Planning a Birthday Party or Small Event in Festac? A Checklist
Rownez Administrator · 4 November 2026 · 4 min read
A good venue makes an event easier to run. Before you contact anyone, spend ten minutes deciding the basics below. It makes quotes quicker and cleaner, and helps you compare venues fairly.
What to decide first
- Date and time. Have a second date in mind, as popular days book out early, especially in December.
- Guest numbers. A realistic range is more useful than an exact number.
- Type of event. A birthday party, a cocktail evening, a meeting and a reception all need different spaces.
- Budget. Say what you can spend on the venue, food and drinks together.
What to ask the venue
- What is included, and what costs extra: food, drinks, sound, decoration, cleaning?
- Can you bring your own caterer or DJ, or is catering provided?
- Are there rules about music and finishing times?
- Is there parking for your guests?
- Can out-of-town guests stay on site, and at what rate?
- What happens if the weather or the power affects the day?
- How is the booking confirmed, and what is the cancellation policy?
Why a hotel works well for small events
With a hotel, food, drinks, parking and rooms for guests are all in one place, and one team is responsible from your enquiry to the end of the night. At Rownez Resort, the pool area and its bar can host birthdays, cocktails and similar celebrations, and we host meetings and special events with the facilities you need. Our restaurant and bar are on site, parking is free for guests and the front desk is open all night.
